First Things First..

So today, I decided to join in with this great link up below...Join us!

First Things First

First thing you would do/buy if you won the lottery
First person you call when you get amazing news
First thing you do when you've had a bad day

1) First thing you would do/buy if you won the lottery:
I would definitely tithe 10% to my church... I have been trying really hard to follow Dave Ramsey's FPU (which, by the way, I love!). After I tithe 10% and save 10%, I would pay off any debts - mainly my car and then go purchase a house with whatever is left. If I was able to pay for a house in CASH completely, I would probably start taking trips. I love to travel and I would love to take my grandmother to a few places. First to NYC - or more specifically, the Bronx, because that is where she grew up. Even though everything has changed (even the school she went to is not there anymore), It has been a dream to go up to NYC and take my grandmother wherever she would want to show me! The other place I would want to take her is to Italy, our heritage. That one needs a lot less explaining :)

2) First person you call when you get amazing news:
Usually the first person I would call with great news would either be my mom or my sister. I love my sister a ton, but whatever I tell her, I should plan that it would not be a secret for long. I think that if I had a HUGE secret, she would probably keep it, but if it was something like a new job or winning the lottery - I might as well have it run on the evening news!

3) First thing you do when you've had a bad day:

Hmm... That's a good one. The first thing I do when I have had a bad day is retreat... I am introverted and when I have had a busy day or crazy bad day, all I want to do is sit down and veg out for a while. I don't want to talk to anyone, I just want to flip on the TV, watch something simple (something I don't have to think about) and relax. Usually this will help me to calm down and then I can start socializing again.

Hope you have an AMAZING Tuesday!

XOXOXO Kaitie

Thankful Thursday

I love when blogs have "themed" days to their posts! I think they are fun! So, I give you... Thankful Thursdays Top Three!!! (By the way, LOVE that name that I just came up with :)-

Let's keep it simple. Name the top 3 things that you are Thankful (grateful) for this week:

1) I went to my first Orioles game this week! I have a special place in my heart for these guys who play on the hometown MLB team... The Baltimore Orioles! It was last minute tickets that my cousin got from a Vendor for his company! Anywho... I was emailing my sister about the game plan for getting to the game and I said "I am so excited to see my SUMMER boys! I know they missed me!" (Yes, I know that I have never ACTUALLY met any of the Orioles, but we all cheer for the same MLB team.. Which means, they are my Summer boys!... I have this thing that I do where I take possession of large groups of people... I think it comes from growing up in a BIG Italian Family... Hello Family Vacation with 50+ people!) Best part was it was a GORGEOUS night and My boys WON!!! Congratulations O's!!!

2) Unexpectedly, last Saturday, I was able to go visit with a friend that I have not seen lately and it was just the motivation I needed to go to my next MK Party! So grateful for girlfriends that raise my belief and pick me up when I am down! That was definitely a well spent afternoon!

3) With all of the tragedy this week between Boston and Texas, I am SO thankful that I personally did not lose anyone. It makes you think about holding your loved ones closer and never leave the room mad at someone or without telling them that you love them. That was one of the most profound things I learned in my teens from the youth pastor at my Church. He told us that you are never guaranteed that you will see someone again. Don't ever let someone leave a room mad! I can honestly say that I don't always follow that advice, but when I remember it... I pray that God gives me one more chance to see that person.

What are your Thankful Thursday's Top Three?

Till next time,
XOXOXO

Boston and more...

So the news of the explosions in Boston yesterday was tragic and brought back so many memories that should not exist, but do. I want to take a minute and just ask that you all pray for those that were injured or killed, those that were affected by this personally, and those that helped out and are still working on the investigation of this tragedy. Even though I did not lose anyone personally and did not know anyone that was injured, the realization is that someone in this world planned this attack. Whether it was a international terrorist attack or a local terrorist attack, I have to find the good in this somewhere. Thank you God for only letting 2 of the 5 explosions happen. Even though it may be hard to see the good, There is good out there... The people who ran towards the explosions to help out instead of running away in fear for their own lives, the police and firefighters who have been working to help all of the victims, the countless people in Boston who have opened up their homes to serve others who have no other place.

I believe in the good in people and know that we all have it takes, we just have to put a little effort. What can you do today to show someone that there is love in this world. You may be like me and not able to physically go to Boston to help, but we can pray and we can put effort in life today to love others and show God's love to EVERYONE that we meet! You just don't know whose life you may change by a kind word or smile.

On another note, I have been wanting to join in with this link up for a while! I am really excited to join in each week with my progress of running a 5k this summer. My father ran a marathon for the Marine Corps Marathon two years ago and I truly admire him for being able to do it and completing the training necessary. He was going to run it again this past year, but unfortunately came down with a BAD sinus infection. He actually went to the ER which he never does! But, I have a dream to run it with him in the next few years. I know that with consistency in my training, I will be able to do it. But for now... I will be starting with a 5k. I am supposed to be running one coming up in May, but I am already behind in the training. I think if I kick up the training to every other day, I will be able to at least run half of the race. So, join me on my journey as I do the C25K challenge for the next month of intense training. Tomorrow, I will begin with W1D1.

Introverted Diva...

So... Introverted Diva! That's me.. Kaitie. At least that is what my sister calls me :) Let me explain the title for just a second.

I personally love nicknames and almost always will ask someone where it came from or what it means. (I am a very detail oriented person... my best and worst asset all rolled in one) Anywho... Introverted Diva. So, Back in 2007, I became an Entrepreneur of my very own Mary Kay company! I actually love being an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay, but I will talk about that another time. But.. that is important because that is where the DIVA part of my name came from. My sister calls me a diva, but everyone who knows her will tell you that she is more DIVA-licious than ME! Unlike the actual definition of diva... neither my sister or I can sing well... But I always get points for trying and I love to try! Now, the introverted part... I am an INTROVERT! Period! I am.. Just because I like to talk and can talk for a long time, does not make me extroverted! Basic difference between introverted and extroverted is how you re-energize yourself. If you get energy by being around people, than you are extroverted. But, if you are like me and re-energize by being alone - you are introverted!

There... Know you know how the title and my nickname came to be.
